Student Registration:
If
you want to improve your reading skills, math skills, prepare for the GED, or enroll in online classes
you must first attend a four hour orientation at 1500 East Thomas Road, Suite 102, Phoenix 85014. To register for classes you must attend one of the following orientations.
You will need to bring proof of legal residency with you, such as a driver's license or state issued ID card.
You will also need to bring a notebook and something to write with.
Orientation starts at exactly the time indicated and if you are late you will not be able to attend. Only the first 35 people to arrive will be admitted. You do not need to register to attend.
For the month of September orientations will be held as follows:
Wednesday September 3, 2008 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Thursday September 11, 2008 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Tuesday September 16, 2008 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Saturday September 27, 2008 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

you or someone you know wants to learn to speak English please call us for an intake appointment at
(602) 274-3430. You will meet at Literacy Volunteers' office for about two hours for an initial assessment. LEARN Center students must attend classes in one of our centers for at least 6 hours per week. All of our programs are free to the public.
To be
a student in a Literacy Volunteers' program:
1.
You must be at least 16 years of age
2. Not enrolled in school or other educational
institution
3. Have the desire and the time to increase
skills in basic literacy and/or English as a second language. (6-8
hours per week)
4. Must show proof of legal residency.
